Making Slime And Periscopes – Dawoodi Bohra Girls Have Fun Learning on International Women and Girls in Science Day

The Dawoodi Bohra community of Vancouver hosted a fun science event on Saturday to mark the United Nations’ International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The interactive 60-minute session for young girls included making periscopes and “oobleck” (slime made out of cornstarch and water).

Vancouver Bohras Collect Over 300 Pounds of Trash on World Cleanup Day

On World Cleanup Day, Vancouver Dawoodi Bohras of all ages from Burnaby, Surrey, Abbotsford and Maple Ridge in BC came together on Habour Avenue by the Fraser River in Mission to tackle the waste problem and pick up over 300 pounds of garbage. Volunteers spent over two hours picking up waste, including plastic and other trash that had been dumped by the road on Harbour Avenue in Mission.
