Our Nation’s capital, Ottawa is situated on the border of Ontario and Quebec and is home to many diverse communities, as well as renowned museums, federal government institutions, and world-class outdoor recreation.
The Dawoodi Bohras have made Ottawa their home for over 50 years, during which time our community has grown to over 40 families and has had a dedicated community center since early 1999.
The Dawoodi Bohras of Ottawa are mostly professionals engaged in a variety of industries including public service, medicine, high tech, and business and trading. Several members of our community originally came to Canada from India, Pakistan, and East Africa as students and loved the country so much they never left. Most are anglophone with a good number of French-speakers as well.
